The Virginia Ramblers were established in 2017 by Pete Zafros, a local youth coach who wanted to bring a more advanced feel to youth wrestling. The team joined forces with Franconia Wrestling in 2021, and since then the Virginia Ramblers have become the travel team for Franconia Wrestling. The Ramblers practice on Monday and Wednesday's for 1.5 hours and compete on Sundays, starting the first Sunday in January. Matches are just about every Sunday until early March and cumulates with a league Championship in the first week of March.
The Virginia Ramblers wrestle in the Mason-Dixon league, which is centered in western Fairfax County and Loudoun. There are about 20 teams in the league.
